What Is Emergency Dentistry?

We are here for you at South OC Dentistry, especially during emergencies. Even though we wish that they wouldn’t, emergencies do happen. Reaching our to our office can be the difference between losing and saving a tooth. Whether it’s a cavity, an infection, a broken tooth, a sports injury or any other issue, the sooner it is addressed, the better.

What to Do for Your Child when They’re Experiencing a Dental Emergency

The first thing you need to do is to call our office at (949) 581 5800 as soon as possible. No matter if your child has lost a tooth due to injury is experiencing pain or bleeding, the dentist can provide you with more information on how to help based on what your child is experiencing. Some soothing techniques may help, such as applying a cold compress to the face or even taking pain medication, but the dentist can help guide you through this process.

Even with these soothing techniques, the dentist might still recommend you stop by for a consultation as soon as possible!

The Importance of Prompt Emergency Care

It can be terrifying to see your child in pain and need emergency dental care, but it’s very important to take them to see a specialist as soon as possible. Not just because this can take the pain away, but to also address the issue that’s causing it in the first place.
